Main Functions:
Internal Pipe Inspection and Observation
By opening the cover or access plate of the vertical inspection port, it is possible to directly inspect the interior of the vertical stack using an endoscope, camera, or with the naked eye. This allows observation of:
Presence of blockages or accumulation of foreign objects;
Water flow conditions and air-water mixture status;
Whether there is scaling, corrosion, or deformation on the pipe wall;
Whether the siphonic effect is forming normally (negative pressure, full-bore flow).
Pipe Descaling and Unblocking
When the system becomes blocked (commonly caused by debris, grease, hair, or construction residue entering the pipes), cleaning tools such as drain snakes, pipe inspection robots, or high-pressure water jets can be inserted directly through the vertical inspection port for clearing, without the need to disassemble large sections of piping or damage walls/floors.
System Maintenance and Fault Diagnosis
Routine inspection of the siphonic system’s air venting performance and negative pressure stability;
Checking for leaks at heat fusion/electrofusion joints (especially under negative pressure conditions);
Verifying that air is effectively expelled from the pipe (critical for siphon activation);
Convenient for collecting water samples or testing water quality (particularly useful in systems involving reclaimed water reuse or rainwater harvesting).
Emergency Drainage and Pressure Relief
In extreme situations (such as system overload or abnormal negative pressure), the inspection port can be temporarily opened to serve as a pressure relief point or auxiliary drainage outlet, preventing pipe bursting or interruption of the siphonic flow.
